With 4 grown-up kids and more grandchildren than my maths skills care to count, I’ve spent decades sharpening photography skills on them. Do they occasionally find me a bit annoying when I tell them to stand still for just one more shot? Absolutely. But someone has to keep the family archives full!

When I’m not behind the lens or tweaking code, you’ll usually find me in the garden or sinking a few shots of a different kind—playing pool for my local pub, the Fenton Flyer, in the Selby league

I’m also rarely solo when I’m out in the garden—I’m usually joined by Charles, my trusty cat and chief garden assistant. He greets me at the door whenever I come home, he’ll even wander down to the Fenton Flyer to check in on my mates. He can be a bit feisty when the mood strikes him, but he’s a huge part of my life and a regular feature around here.

Before hanging up my hat, my career path took a few twists and turns, eventually leading me into IT where I spent years teaching college students everything from beginner Microsoft apps to multimedia design. Today, I keep those tech skills sharp by tinkering with projects like this website—built from scratch to share my favorite shots.
