The garden residents don’t pay rent, but they do occasionally pose for a photograph. Here are birds, butterflies, insects and other visitors to my little patch of Church Fenton—with the woolly lawnmowers keeping an eye on things from next door.

Some sit obligingly. Others disappear the moment I fetch the camera.
